The Surrey Schools 2026-2028 Accessibility Plan outlines how the school district is meeting the requirements of the Accessible B.C. Act and it describes the priorities and objectives of the Accessibility Working Group. The Accessibility Working Group works in collaboration with the Accessibility Advisory Committee and utilizes feedback provided by the public as it undertakes the removal of barriers for people with disabilities in targeted areas. The priorities and objectives identified in the Accessibility Plan occur in parallel to many other initiatives and projects underway which help create a more accessible Surrey Schools.

The Surrey School District is committed to ensuring that every individual has full access to our programs and services. An important part of this work is to ensure that students, staff and community members with disabilities have a voice in identifying, removing, and preventing barriers in our district learning environments, workplaces, or school communities.

Our district is dedicated to inclusion, accessibility, and equity for every member of our district, school communities and those interacting with the district. We are committed to improving the experiences of people with disabilities and, in the spirit of “Nothing About Us, Without Us”, we encourage our community to share their feedback and experiences.

As we implement the Surrey Schools Accessibility Plan and work to make our district more accessible, we invite you to share your thoughts with us. The two surveys below let you give feedback on the plan and/or tell us about barriers to accessibility you have identified in the district.

All feedback received will be confidential and anonymized feedback will be shared with the Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Accessibility Working Group. This feedback will be considered during future reviews and when we update the Accessibility Plan.
