Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year!

The first day of school has come and gone, and it's been wonderful to see our hallways buzzing with energy again! If you haven't yet, take a moment to check out the welcome back videos from Supt. Mark Pearmain and Board Chair Gary Tymoschuk, shared with students, staff and families across Surrey and White Rock.

Their messages take a look at what's shaping this school year: more classrooms, stronger foundations in literacy and numeracy, and a renewed focus on wellbeing and belonging. They also speak to continuing to advocate strongly for our children when it comes to artificial intelligence, especially around safety, privacy, and responsible use. 

It's all part of how Surrey Schools is preparing students with the skills, critical thinking, resilience, communication, they need to succeed in school and beyond.
